This a question I get often with my clients, students, and strangers. Once they find out I teach nutrition, I get asked "How much should I eat? What should I eat?", I usually just answer "I don't know?". I am not being rude, it's just that to figure out how much one should eat there are a few factors involved. Factors like age, gender, weight, body composition, activity level, goals etc. All of those factors are needed so I can calculate how many calories you should be having so you can fuel yourself properly.
Well, I decided to make it easier for you. I have included suggestions for the amount of calories you might need and a sample menu to help you with ideas for the types of food you should be choosing to reach your calorie goals. Now, I borrowed these references from the Dietary Guidelines for Americans. It is a great government resource to highlight healthy lifestyle choices to help one live a long healthy life and reduce the risk of chronic diseases like heart disease, type II diabetes, and obesity. Besides why reinvent the wheel when you don't have to! If I did not like these suggestions or guidelines...I would not share them.
The guides that I am sharing are meant to help you and give you some direction. If you really want something specifically for you, then please ask me. You should have an expert like myself work with you to create a nutrition plan that will work specifically for you. If you have questions or want more information then please reach out and contact me! 😊
